We Arose in Waterloo grew out of a desire to promote community wellness–both the physical health of its people and the strength of its connections. We did so by addressing three primary needs: affordable access to fresh produce to promote healthier lifestyles, for local farmers to be less siloed in their outreach efforts, and for the community to nurture, and be supported by these issues.

Since its inception, We Arose has grown to include solutions for all of these needs and more. With programs like Greens to Go, We Ride, Wine Exchange, and We Arose Gardens–anyone and everyone in Waterloo has a place at We Arose. While each program relies on the central hub for its mission and continuity, they are nourished and managed by partnerships between numerous individuals and local organizations.
